Feelings. There are two extremes when it comes to dealing with how we feel on the inside. On the one hand, we can ignore our emotions, believing them to be unreliable and untrustworthy. On the other hand, we can allow our lives to be driven by our emotions.
Somewhere in the middle lies a healthy path forward where we recognize our emotions are very much a part of who we are and how God made us in his own image, but we all bear some measure of emotional brokenness and need to find healing.
This sermon series looks at different passages of scripture that speak about human emotion and how to deal with how we feel in a way that is healthy and holy.
Week One: Choosing Hope When You Feel Hopeless
Because we are human beings living in a broken world, we will all face moments when we feel hopeless, but because of God’s good gifts, we can always choose to believe in hope in spite of our feelings.
Week Two: Choosing Compassion When You Feel Contempt
Whenever we feel contempt toward a person or a whole group of people, we can choose to practice compassion by seeing people as God sees them.
