The “MORE” You Were Made For

Made for More, Week One

Far too many of us are trapped behind our fears. Our addictions. Our sinful patterns and destructive cycles.

The world around us intimidates us and bullies us into hiding.

But…

YOU WERE MADE FOR MORE!

I believe far too many of us have given in.

We’ve settled.

We’ve believed that we were incapable of more.

We’re beaten down and we’ve stopped trying.

And then there are those who have decided to pursue more, on their own terms.

More money. More fame. More glory.

Too many of us pursue our own version of more

rather than God’s version of more.

The Bible is clear that God made for HIS “more,” and it’s more valuable than anything you’ve ever begun to imagine…

John 10:10 AMP

The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].

God made for a life of more.

More love. More peace. More hope. More purpose.

More of HIM!

Ephesians 3:20 AMP

Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us…

1 Corinthians 2:9 CEV

But it is just as the Scriptures say, “What God has planned for people who love him is more than eyes have seen or ears have heard. It has never even entered our minds!”

No matter where you are in your faith journey, no matter how positively you think about your own future, you will never in your humanness be able to fathom all that God can do in, around, and through you.

You can live the PLUS ULTRA life!

Plus ultra (English: further beyond) is a Latin phrase and the national motto of Spain. It is taken from the personal motto of Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor and King of Spain (as Charles I), and is a reversal of the original phrase non terrae plus ultra (English: no land further beyond). This was said to have been inscribed as a warning on the Pillars of Hercules at the Strait of Gibraltar, which marked the edge of the known world. Charles adopted the motto following the discovery of the New World by Columbus, and it also has metaphorical suggestions of taking risks and striving for excellence. (Source)

How to Begin to Experience God’s “MORE”

Ephesians 1:13-14 NIV

And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, [14] who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.

1. Hear the message of the gospel.

2. Put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ.

3. Begin to receive all that God has for you.

Being marked… being sealed… receiving God’s Holy Spirit… growing until the completion of your story of redemption.

Will you trust in Jesus, receiving him into your life? Will you allow the Holy Spirit to have you completely as his own? To mark you, to fill you, and to use you for his own glory?

Will you venture beyond the life you’ve known?
